“Every voiceover job, to me, is an opportunity to take someone on a new, immersive adventure.”

Hiyeee! So glad you're here.

I'm Nicola Fordwood, a professional female voice actor based in San Francisco, California. I record full-time from my broadcast-quality home studio and I LOVE what I do.

I didn't start here though. I have a degree in Theater from Skidmore College and spent years in the corporate world as a Creative Project Manager before making the leap to voice acting full-time. It ended up being the perfect combination. I finally found a career where my inner theater geek could shine AND the project manager in me could put all those skills to work. I keep track of due dates, manage deliverables and communicate clearly with clients throughout every project. Creativity and structure in the same package.

My voice has a genuine, relatable, approachable sound. Think friendly girl next door, warm corporate narrator, trusted best friend or fun-loving college grad. I voice commercials, corporate narration, eLearning, explainer videos... you name it. For animation and video games, I go from a small exuberant kid to a snarky teenager to a resilient young adult and even a malfunctioning robot mom with a few sinister characters in between. Character work is where I get to play and have the MOST fun.

I care A LOT about every project I take on, no matter the size. I bring a strong work ethic, I communicate clearly throughout every stage and I deliver a solid final product. My superpower is being insanely reliable. You will not have to chase me down.

If you are an animal welfare group or rescue nonprofit that could benefit from voice over services, please reach out. I'm open to pro bono or reduced-rate work to help animals in need. It's something I care deeply about.

When I'm not in my booth recording, you'll find me hiking the coastal trails with my two rescue dogs, hunting down the best burrito in San Francisco or reading dystopian novels.
